After nearly two years of researching builders and meeting with numerous companies, we ultimately chose Focal Point — and it was absolutely the right decision. From the very beginning, it was clear that they understood how to build an upscale, high-quality home while putting the money in the right places. They were not the cheapest builder, nor should they be for the level of quality, craftsmanship, and service they provide. Our experience with Focal Point was outstanding from start to finish. They completed our home on time and within budget, while keeping us informed throughout every stage of the process. Communication was exceptional. We asked countless questions before, during, and after construction, and every email was answered promptly and thoroughly. Even now, more than a year after moving in, they continue to respond immediately whenever we have a question. That level of service and care is rare. One thing we especially appreciated was how respectful they were of our established neighborhood during the teardown and construction process. They understood the importance of keeping neighbors informed and always made themselves available to answer questions. Their professionalism and consideration meant a great deal to us. The entire Focal Point team is exceptional. Every person we worked with was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, patient, and genuinely kind. Just as importantly, they work incredibly well together as a team. It was obvious throughout the process that they truly care — about the quality of the home, the details, the costs, and most importantly, the homeowner experience. Building a custom home is an enormous investment of both time and money, and choosing the right builder is critical. For us, this was our final home build, so getting it right truly mattered. Focal Point guided us honestly through every decision, including where upgrades made sense and where they were unnecessary. We never felt pressured — only supported. The finished home exceeded every expectation. We moved in about 16 months ago. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are remarkable. The house feels incredibly solid, thoughtfully designed, and exceptionally well built. In the end, Focal Point gave us exactly what we hoped for: the perfect home for our family, including our grandchildren and many wonderful gatherings with family and friends. We could not be happier with both the home itself and the five-star service we received — and continue to receive. Focal Point knows how to build an amazing home, but equally important, they genuinely care. They care about the big things and the small things. They care about quality. They care about their homeowners. We give Focal Point our highest recommendation. If we ever decided to build again, we would return to them without hesitation.

The team at Focal Point is exceptional, not only because of the quality homes they build, but also because of their integrity and customer service. We started the building process while living over 6000 miles away, and after being in our home for two years now, my husband and I still comment to each other that we cannot imagine going through that process with another builder. During each step, communication was transparent and honest. Adam, Nate, Mike, Christine, and Nick listened to our many questions and gave thoughtful answers - they never once made us feel they were short on time to answer. Lucy was also a stand-out, and often as the first point of contact when I called, she was knowledgeable and put me at ease. The team thoroughly discussed options with us so we knew how each selection would meet our needs. Once work started on site, our project manager updated us two or more times each week, anticipating our questions with details and pictures of the week's progress. We always felt in the know, which was a comfort since we were unable to see the progress in person frequently. Focal Point is an honest group of top tier professionals who really care about their customers. We are so pleased with the home they built for us, and if we ever decide to do this again, we'd want to build with Focal Point.

This was a major undertaking for us and we spent considerable time visiting open houses for Focal Point builds as well as those from other builders. Focal Point was the builder for many homes in our neighborhood and our neighbors were generous about letting us view their homes, hear about their experience with Focal Point, and to explain the process. Importantly, our neighbors were unanimous in their satisfaction with their choice of Focal Point and with the results. Focal Point personnel were helpful in walking us through the decisions we had to make and they provided helpful advice on each of the steps. Once things got underway, the project manager assigned to our house was available for all questions, contacted us as each step was about to begin, walked us through the ongoing work at the site, and made minor adjustments we requested. We started with one of the models and then made some changes to the framing and wiring to accommodate plans for an elevator, a sauna, and an emergency generator in the future. These will now be simple plug & play additions rather than major upgrades. Our house was delivered on-time and at the agreed-upon price. Finally, Focal Point made it clear up-front that in a project with all the moving parts of a new home build there would be mistakes and imperfections. Focal Point returns 30 days after the move-in and one year after the move-in to address any concerns. The entire experience creates trust and comfort with the decision to contract with Focal Point. In sum, we highly recommend Focal Point. We are very happy with our house and our choice of Focal Point as our builder.

We purchased a new construction home built by Focal Point and could not be happier. Although we were not involved in the building process, we came to know the builder (and our site’s project manager Matt) leading up to our move-in date and throughout our first year in the home. Matt was incredibly responsive to any questions we had and did a thorough job with our walk through by explaining all the details of how things work, where things are, etc. From the open house to closing and beyond, the entire team at Focal Point demonstrated exceptional professionalism, incredible craftsmanship, and outstanding communication. The quality of construction is simply superb. We've been living in our new home for two years now, and we continue to be impressed by the solid build, the thoughtful layout, and the high-quality materials used throughout. We had a fantastic experience working with Focal Point Homes. We stated the process about 3 years ago and had no difficulty picking them as our builder after seeing their numerous homes with reasonable pricing, and quality products. From the very beginning, they took the time to listen to our needs and offered thoughtful design suggestions and features—always keeping our budget in mind. They delivered our home on time and within the estimated cost, which is rare and truly appreciated. The quality of the construction is solid, and the attention to detail shows throughout the house. Even after settlement, their team has been very responsive to our questions and feedback. Everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and committed to doing things right. They really live up to their great reputation, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and customer-focused home builder.

I shopped builders. Giving a unbiased view. Focal Point gave me a price if you do not make any changes (which is impossible in the build process). It seems reasonable compared to other builders. In the process, it became apparent that if you want to change anything, there is markup, which makes sense but the markup on some of these changes exceeded 8 times of what it costs. Most builders have about and 15-20% markup on a change. It became apparent that they marked up items significantly because the consumer has no idea what actual cost it. I ended up going with a similar level builder and realized that Focal Point uses lower quality finishes in their base price and that the nicer stuff with cost plus builders are small increases. I do not recommend using them and rather you should shop builders to get apples to apples. In summary, on the surface, it seemed like no one could beat Focal Point, but when you look at the details, you are getting a house that is better than a tract builder but no where close to a custom house for a custom home price with them. Their finishings without upgrading with large markups is what will get you in the end.
